Sis. Mary McCray Harris was born April 10, 1929 in Karnack, Texas, to the proud parents of Austin and Agnes Black McCray. She came from a large, close, and loving family. Mary confessed her life to Christ at an early age under the leadership of Pastor Webb at Old Border Baptist Church. She retired from the Westin Hotel-Galleria where she served as a dedicated worker.
On Thursday, April 30, 2020, God called His angel home to be with the Lord.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Agnes McCray, her husband, Elree Harris, two sons, Henry A. Strange and Jimmy R. Strange, four brothers, and six sisters.
Mary leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Brenda D. Rhinehart and Gwendolyn J. Chandler, one brother, Henry McCray, and one sister, L.T. Williams, all of Dallas, Texas. She also leaves 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren, a very special niece, Zephr Jones of Dallas, Texas, and a God son that she loved as her own; Willie A Seward. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
