Luther Asburry Walker was born September 18, 1923, to Samantha Walker and Theador Walker. He grew up in Red River County where he attended Haywood Community School.
There he was a notable basketball star. After his completion of school he enlisted in the United States Army where he served. He was stationed in Hawaii then fought in World War II. He was very honored and proud to be a WWII Veteran.
Mr. Walker worked for many years in a bakery and the YMCA. He found the most joy later in life as a Crossing Guard for Plano Independent School District where worked for over 20 years. Where he brought joy to all around him. He loved to walk the babies to school every day he would say.
Luther loved to be around family dearly. He was an active member of True Love Bible Fellowship. God was the guiding light in his life, and he was his faithful servant. On January 28, 2021 our Beloved Luther Walker was called home to be with his Heavenly father. Although he will be greatly missed, He is now truly home, as he was the last of his siblings.
Mr. Walker is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings. He leaves behind daughter Ann Walker of Dallas, Texas, son Billy Wayne Walker, a grandson, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and close loved ones.
Mr. Walker found two special angels in Sheena and Leon Patton, whom he loved. A special thank you from the family.
