On April 29, 2022, Joe Eldrich Belt, Jr. departed this life on Earth. On August 21, 1957, Joe was born the third child of fourteen unto the union of Deacon Joe’l Belt, Sr. and Mother Future Mae Belt in Colt, Arkansas. Joe attended school and graduated from Forrest City School District in Forrest City, Arkansas. After high school, he attended Crowley’s Ridge Vocational school in Forrest City, Arkansas where he obtained a Welding Certification.
He would later move to Dallas, Texas and began working a career as a master welder at Cooks Machinery in Dallas, TX for the next 15 or more years. He later began working at Performance Welding in Sunnyvale, TX. He would go on to retire from Performance Welding located in Sunnyvale, Texas in 2016. Outside of welding, Joe was also quite a handyman who enjoyed collecting, refurbishing, and recycling things that others had no use for anymore.
On June 29, 2015. Joe was united in marriage to Linda Gail Giddens. Joe faithfully loved Linda until his untimely death. During this union, Joe unconditionally served as a stepfather to Robert “Ickey” Giddens, Antoine Deon Giddens and a Godfather to Sheniqua. Over the years, he continued to play a major part in the children’s lives. In February of 2022, Joe recommitted his life to Christ.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents Joe’l and Future Belt, two brothers: Robert Patrick Belt, and Ronald Clint Belt, two sisters: Charlotte Marie Falls, and Judy Ibezim, Rickie Bynum and Calvin Key, Sr.(brother -in-laws). Julia Geraldine Wright (mother -in-law), Judy Ruth Manning and Sandra Rena Thompson (sisters -in-law), Jones E. Wright, John Glenn Wright, and Andre Demonk Wright (brother-in-laws), Robert “Ickey” Giddens (stepson).
Joe is survived by his wife Linda Belt, nine siblings: Beverly G. Bynum (Rickie), Valerie Key (Calvin), Emmanuel Belt (Geneva), Vashti Belt, Carl Belt (Cynthia), Pamela Taylor, George Belt, Sr .(Jennifer), Keith Belt (Nasreen), Franceilia Hamilton, three brother -in-laws: Cleo Wright Jr., Gregory Dean Wright (Catha), Clarence E. Giddens (Star) and three sisters-in-law: Barbara Ann Wright (James), Charlotte Wright, Lutrina La’Shun Wright-Roy (Hartley) and one son Antoine Deon Giddens (Nara) and three grandchildren, Jamiracle Giddens, Antoine Deon Giddens, Jr. and Tedarius Giddens. He also leaves three aunts and a host of nieces, nephews and friends behind to cherish his memories.
